This is a lunatic sport. Driving in circles over and over and over and over and over and over again. This man died for this mindless sport.
It is not a mindless sport there is nothing he could do your going 220 mph you can not stop this car he tried to avoid it so stop yapping
Sometimes racing can be sadly fatal, You cant sometime avoid a crash as how good of an driver you are.
What a sad day to lose all those race cars like that.
Very bmvery danger😢😢😢
He shouldn’t have won his second Indy.
have you calmed down now
Wow, Just Wow, Dan Wheldon’s Spotter Tried To Help you can hear him yell “Go Low, Go Low, Go Low!” Very sad incident
Why all the capitalization? Just curious.
I am appauled that you show a crach just to get views. You chould be banned from You Tube jerk.
It’s for the family he is not getting monetized
Chut up.

How do you call it an accident when everybody warned you there was too many cars going too fast? Not an accident, it was multiple crashes caused by negligence on the part of indycar and the track owner
How is watching cars make one single angle turn so asthetic? Like stuff like this happens an no one can escape and its a literal death ball waiting to happen just for spectators to watch cars go on fire honestly
These kinda wrecks don’t happen all the time..also have you ever been to a race live? I suggest you do watching on tv or 1 clip don’t do justice
NO Cars were "airborne" for "200 yards"
This looked like the driver that caused the crash, tried to pit. The driver in front of him, and his car started to go sideways before it was rear-ended.
Unbelievable they continued to analyse the crash!
look ma I'm flying splat lol
Bro u think this funny when they could be dead rn flying across the track
I don’t have to say that I have a disability to make myself feel better.
I just find it stupid and embarrassing that this had to happen to make the sport safer.
I’m sorry, guys. I didn’t know this would be a tragedy.
Rest in peace our fellow Speedster Dan Wheldon ❤
This isn't sport. Dumbest activity ever.
Going the length of a football field in less than a second
RIP Dan, this is haunting to watch. You really LIVED it brother. Rest in heaven.
0:14 Oh, here we go...
I think this is the worse crash that was deadly ever since Dale sr
True story...In the years prior to this accident, I had the privilege of having "VIP" access to Watkins Glen during both Indy Car and Nascar races. I met most of the drivers, and watched them "backstage" behind all the hoopla, glitz, glamor and lights. This is where you really learn about the drivers. I have always been a bigger Nascar fan than anything else, but gained a true appreciation of motorsports...and Indy Car...during these races. And the people that sparked my newfound love of Indy Car were three drivers...Helio, Scott and...Dan Wheldon. To those that say Dan was a terrific guy, down to earth, etc...you are absolutely right. During the autograph sessions, Dan would get out of his chair...walk around to where my friend and I were standing, saw that we were taking pictures of all of them signing...and he would all of the sudden strike silly poses after jumping in front of the camera. Outside of actually WATCHING a little girl yell out to a closely passing Danica Patrick for an autograph...and watching Danica just walk right past that little one...then seeing that Helio picked up on that snub...he walked right over to the little girl and her father and brother...asked her dad if they could get a picture together...grabbed the girl's hand and her brother's shoulder ands one of Helio's crew grabbed the father's camera and took pictures with her. This girl obviously adored Danica...but Hello saved her day, and made me a fan of his permanently. Don't get me started on Danica. But as I was saying...outside of that scene, the experiences with Dan Wheldon and Scott Dixon kept me an Indy Car fan. I got to not only experience the race from a much different perspective than most fans...but more than that, I got to meet and know a few of the drivers. And the difference...BIG difference between the Nascar and Indy Car experience was that the Indy Car drivers KNEW who paid their checks, and most of them displayed that gratitude in the form of being approachable to their fans. Dan Wheldon was front and center in this area. This one hit home for me. In a big way. It still does...because...Dan Wheldon was a great human being that also turned out to be a great driver. In that order. I will always cherish the time I spent at the Glen during Indy Car races, and the flag Dan signed for me after one of those silly poses is one of my most cherished possessions. It will always be on display, and it will always remind me of the good things about racing. Rest In Peace, Dan. And, thank you. Sorry about the length. It's been over a decade but I just wanted to remember by writing this.
Through the gates of hell
Through the gates of hell
Final destiny couldnt have written this. A shocking mess
Ovals...... 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Saw this live on TV, it was the first race I’d watched in a long while, after something like this happens the racing doesn’t seem to matter. I stopped watching Indycar for several years. Just didn’t feel like it.
wtf were the smartest of the smart thinking, putting 34 tomahawk missiles into a goddamn thimble, and expecting no explosions!?
I Need A Little Bit Of This Video For A Short Video
Yeah, he did charge it too hard.. it’s called a dive bomb
A sad tragedy that he was deep into better safety aspects of the vehicle and before they are implanted he is tragically killed. A true sad day in motorsports!
I never understood the safety of these cars. They literally don’t have a roof going 220+
The guy who switched the camera respect
Rest up buddy. You were a warrior.
Im happy indy cars have better safety upgrades now. If indy cars had shields back then to take the initial impact before his helmet had to then he might still be with us today. As a motorbike rider i sad but still relieved? he died doing what he LOVED doing..
Remember watching this live and the reaction of some of the drivers. A female driver, maybe Pippa Mann, was physically shaking getting out of her car. A couple of the drivers coming out of the care unit at the track remarked how Wheldon needed prayers and the amount of doctors attending to him. I had to turn it off eventually and when my wife asked me why didn’t I want to keep watching for updates I said I was pretty sure what they were going to say. She ended up in tears later that night when we heard the news.
so... instead of admitting that they like to see crashes with people dying they rather say "it's so hard to watch" and repeat it a dozen times in slow-mo?
Insanity that they think these cars are worth running on ovals.
Did Dan die on impact?
It certainly looks like Dan did not lift, let alone brake. Looks like he was trying to make positions under the yellow. Damn shame.
So sad My parents where at this race and met him and wished him good luck before he got in the car so sad that he died 😢
oval racing is not real racing and it's just insanity in regards to safety
it's actually one of the "realest" forms of racing, ask any real driver.
@@t3hgirraces are races. Track does not really matter
Come on Kurt Busch you wreck somebody you're going to get wrecked you know how the game is played. Yeah you know his number it's 7 time😊
It’s what happens when you put Indy cars on a track that was designed for NASCAR racing…..
Can’t lie, Indy just seems like suicide on a good day.
Racing cars at this speed involves risks, PERIOD. Doesn't make it easy bit that's a fact.
Dan el
Never can tell which car was Dan's after the wreck.
